Job description

As the Content Developer you will support the design and development of training solutions for all levels and functional areas of café operations/management. The ideal candidate will develop curriculum, curriculum plans and activities in alignment with organizational goals, strategies, and competencies, coordinate project tasking, oversee and support program development and adherence to project schedules, and provide quality reviews for all programs.

Some essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to: 

Authoring

  • Authors instructor lead, eLearning and mobile learning using an array of authoring tools (Captivate, Camtasia, Lectora, Flash HTML, PowerPoint, In-Design, Word, Quizmaker, Programs included in Adobe Create Cloud)
  • Develops and edits graphics & video utilized in all learning development using editing tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Snag It, etc.
  • Ensures training materials' content is of a high quality and is clear, accurate, consistent, and free of spelling and grammatical errors
  • Work with 3rd party vendors when necessary to source additional resources or to develop alternative solutions

Manage, Research, Design, and Writing

  • Recommends, designs and develops creative learning solutions that include, but are not limited to, classroom, eLearning, and blended learning solutions
  • Writes and edits storyboards, interactive/video scripts, trainer notes and other learning documentation to include participant/leader’s guides, quizzes and assessments
  • Works with clients, subject matter experts and learners to specify gaps, needs and desired outcomes
  • Designs self-paced and reference-based learning experiences that improve crew member performance
  • Manages the evaluation and maintenance of existing training tools and programs
  • Improves existing material by making it more concise
  • Presents ideas/concepts graphically

Project Management

  • Plan, schedule, and track projects, maintaining aggressive deadlines
  • Effectively and successfully manages multiple projects to achieve project goals and meet deadlines
  • Works collaboratively with office, regional and cafe level stakeholders to achieve project goals
  • Manage external and internal vendors in creating learning components
  • Produce and direct training audio, video, and multimedia
  • Leads and participates in special projects, including the piloting of new and emerging learning technologies, learning effectiveness, learning metrics, course delivery

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in instructional design and instructional technology

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree with emphasis on instructional design or instructional technology or education related discipline

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, OR KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficient with Photoshop, Lectora, Flash, HTML, Adobe Premiere, Captivate, PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, and MS Project
  • Ability to work with short deadlines and high stress on multiple projects
  • Ability to impart technical knowledge to a wide variety of audiences
  • Attention to detail and structure to ensure high quality training materials
  • Proven understanding of instructional design and learning theory
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a larger team, balance multiple tasks/objectives and ability to handle frequently changing demands
  • High comfort level with technology and ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications
  • Ability to effectively organize work, prioritize and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Primary work space is open office cubicles
  • 10% travel
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
