What you will need is ambition, talent and some key skills. For this vital role, we’re looking for someone who can design and manage all internal global sales related communications.  Responsible for creating, maintaining and executing the global sales communication plan and related activities that result in consistent messaging and timely dissemination of information in order to increase awareness of the department activities and enhance organizational understanding.   Direct communication efforts with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messages are being received by shared audiences.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)

● Develop the annual communications plan, including individual components addressing identified key audiences.  Ensure that plan meets organizational communication goals and that communications are consistent in tone of message, look and feel of communication, and adherence to overall Company standards.

● Manage communications and content development within assigned department to ensure a cohesive communications strategy regarding all global Sales initiatives and ongoing structure of the division.

● Proactively develop communications bulletins, team space content, announcements, news stories, plans or strategies to disseminate key departmental structure, initiatives, programs and events to designated groups of employees and stakeholders.

● Create and maintain a global Sales communications portal to increase employee engagement (IHG Way of Sales/IHG Javelin Chatter/B2B Connection/Sales Digest in Hotel Bulletin)

● Manage Sales Strategy delivery  activities to ensure information is communicated and milestones are met.

● Manage and maintain presentation content for all global Revenue Management teams.

● Improve employee engagement through the execution of impactful and relevant internal meetings.

● Create, maintain and promote departmental communications collateral templates, including PowerPoint templates, email templates, memo templates, EmailOpen, Emagazine, etc.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

 

Experience

5 to 7 years progressive work related experience with demonstrated technical proficiency related to the position.

 

Technical Skills and Knowledge

● Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to global Sales, and other internal Sales facing stakeholders.

● Demonstrated excellence in preparing clear and concise written business communications for types and levels of audiences.

● Ability to influence and communicate with all levels of management and employees.

● Demonstrate ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information and crisis management issues.

● Possess enhanced skills related to marketing sales facing events

● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/clients as required.

● Demonstrated ability to maintain a consistent, high quality icustomer-focused orientation, including providing clear, accurate information; explaining procedures or materials or providing supplemental information; anticipating problems or questions.

● Demonstrated solid teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with team members and senior management.

● Highly proactive and flexible competency levels with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

● Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with global Revenue Management teams.

● Daily decisions have significant impact on the communications strategy and the effectiveness of internal and external organization communications.

● Makes decisions on what information, when and to which stakeholders we communicate with in order to drive increased understanding of initiatives, activity and value proposition.

 Internal Key Relationships

Global and regional Sales Management teams to assess lead and direct multiple communications activities.  Senior Leadership to provide presentations and standard business reporting.  Internal stakeholders to include Commercial Sales, Franchise Performance Support, Sales and Marketing teams to assist with effective dissemination of information.

Cross-functional communications teams to ensure shared goals are met.

 

 

External Key Relationships

Outside vendors for the purposes of managing necessary tools and deployment processes.

 

 

 

Physical Requirements

Work is typically performed in a normal office environment or mobile environment.  May be required to work outside of normal business hours to accommodate global time zones.  Approximately 0-10% travel required per year.
