What does a great Proposal Management Specialist do?
You will play an integral role in supporting the growth of the business as a member of the sales team. This position involves sales support for both local and field sales reps including administration activities for Sales department.
The Sales Support and Proposal Specialist assumes responsibility for managing/coordinating Request for Proposal ("RFP") responses/bids and proactively participates in activities to identify and target prospective new clients. In this role, the Sales Support and Proposal Specialist will collaborate with various departments including solution architects, product, account management, marketing and many others.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position encompasses a variety of job duties and responsibilities that include but are not limited to the following:
•With limited supervision, coordinate and prepare response to Request for Proposals
•Create a master schedule that drives completion of our proposal
•Organize the RFP response team by identifying the roles and responsibilities for each member
•Track the progress of the response to ensure accuracy and completeness
•Compile content from team members into the final response, taking responsibility for overall quality and accuracy
•Create the final document and oversee the production process
•In addition to other duties, balance a proposal response load of that can include more than three proposals at a time
•Maintain and synchronize RFP response databases
•Participate in inbound and outbound lead generation activities to target prospective new clients
•Coordinate and assist with production of client-facing documents (e.g., presentations, proposals, etc.)
•Keep the boilerplate sales documentation up-to-date and manage the distribution of sales reports
•Field inbound responses to advertising and telemarketing activities
•Maintain interactive communication at all levels within Fiserv as well as current and potential customers
•Occasional travel to meetings
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Position takes on many special projects on an as needed basis including gathering, analyzing and reporting on industry and competitors. Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
•Minimum of three years sales support and/or proposal management experience
•Well organized and detail oriented, able to track multiple project plans and due dates
•Handle rapidly changing priorities and aggressive deadlines
•Lead projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
•Excellent verbal, written and group communication skills with proven writing and editing experience
•Superior follow through capabilities and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
•Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
•Appropriately handle highly confidential information
•Able to maintain high level of diplomacy and adaptability with professionalism
•Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with limited supervision
•Communicates with all levels of the organization, from highly technical to senior-level business leaders
•Ability to adapt and apply the knowledge gained from experiences of several projects
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED:
•Salesforce.com and SharePoint experience
