The Data Monetization Product Manager works with the Vertical product teams to identify product concepts and bring to market new innovative products and solutions based on new and or unique data assets. This "player-coach" role balances ideation leadership, short term execution priorities, and development of long term growth strategies. There will be a particular emphasis on the development and launch of products associated with new to Equifax data assets. This objective of this strategy is to enable Equifax customers to properly manage the changing risk and opportunity associated with consumers to the benefit of consumers.
This position is responsible for executing on the plans necessary to support the full life-cycle management of industry vertical product portfolios and to bring to market products and solutions that can be "packaged" and delivered through our current distribution channels. The Product Manager will work with the Vertical (Banking & Lending, Auto, Mortgage, Insurance, Communications & Digital Media, etc.) teams to understand market and customer needs, quantification of same, identification of new products and opportunities and their respective functions and features, enhancement or re-purposing of existing products and developing and executing on a product portfolio marketing strategy, inclusive of promotions, pricing and channel management.
A specific emphasis for the Product Manager will be to work with the internal Equifax team to successfully launch new products or solutions and support vertical strategies in collaboration with other business units as well.
The position works across the organization, leveraging the skills and knowledge of the Vertical Marketing Leader, Data & Analytics, Pricing, Product Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, and Technology, as required to support the growth objectives of the vertical strategies. The Product Manager position also involves significant collaboration with the vertical teams around the use of Equifax and partner data, analytics and platforms for key growth areas such as risk and segmentation, credit-based risk scores, use of credit data for segmenting and quoting consumers, enhancing customers marketing capabilities, strengthening customer's ability to verify identity and to identify and manage fraudulent activities. Specifically, an initial focus for this position for the first 12 months will be the design, build, and go-to-market activities for the monetization of new to Equifax data assets with an emphasis on the Auto industry vertical.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Product Planning: Supports the strategic full life-cycle product plans necessary to penetrate the various segments of vertical industry markets and to appropriately respond to competitive products and services. Initial emphasis will be placed on the Auto vertical.
Supports the development of Product Line Plans for the industry verticals
Works industry vertical teams to identify market opportunities (through competitive, VOC, POCs, market testing, etc.) based on new and unique data assets either held by or accessible by Equifax
2. Product Management: Maximizes growth opportunities of industry vertical product lines via a strong and comprehensive product portfolio strategy and marketing plan based on market and segment needs, including:
Identification and development of new products incorporating of leveraging new and unique data assets either held by or accessible by Equifax;
Enhancements and re-purposing/packaging of existing products through the addition of, or enhancement by new and unique data assets either held by or accessible by Equifax;
Maintenance of existing products;
Sunset products not meeting market/segment needs and develop transition plans;
Supports the vertical marketing teams to maintain and communicate the vertical Product Line Plans;
Identify build, buy, partner scenarios to meet priority objectives (data, analytics, technology, etc.);
Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders and drives necessary business case development for all relevant product development efforts;
Works with Technology, Data & Analytics, Operations and other functional teams to ensure vertical strategies are the reference and guidance for all investment decisions.
Initial emphasis will be placed on the Auto vertical.
3. Marketing Plan: Works with pricing, product marketing, marketing communications and sales to develop and execute on a comprehensive marketing plan to drive profitable growth of products and solutions in support of the vertical strategies. Initial emphasis will be placed on the Auto vertical.
Liaison with internal marketing and communications team for assigned products
4. Partnerships/Alliances: Supports the activities associated with a robust partnership/alliance strategy: identifying, implementing and managing appropriate data, product and distribution partnerships to drive revenue growth and market penetration for industry verticals. Initial emphasis will be placed on the Auto vertical.
Work in close collaboration with Equifax's US Information Solutions Programs & Exchanges team to support the development of data exchanges incorporating new and unique data assets either held by or accessible by Equifax
Supports vertical, capability and channel teams with day-to-day activities for assigned partners
5. Tactical Implementation: Manages cross-organization operational execution process to ensure that marketing plans are implemented successfully. Initial emphasis will be placed on the Auto vertical.
Will manage all aspects of creating Marketing Requirements Document, User Guides, Sales and Customer Training, Contracts, Customer "Sounds Checks", and other activities to support successful product launches.
The ideal candidate possesses strong product management and leadership experience.
10+ years in related experience/field; 5+ years in a Product Management role within a data and analytics company. Understanding of the customer and product lifecycle within multiple industry vertical markets, preferred.
Additionally, the ideal candidate has knowledge of the Auto lending and business lifecycle.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in marketing or similar field required. M.B.A. or equivalent business experience preferred.
APPLICATIONS: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome. Specifically, expert skills in Excel and Powerpoint. Microsoft Access, iNAV, and Siebel skills preferred.
