Internal Communications Manager Job Description

We’re seeking a results-oriented, communications professional to develop internal communications that inform and engage employees on Omni-channel and marketing initiatives.

The Omni-Channel, Internal Communications Manager will work at a program level with multiple project teams and business partners across the organization to report on Omni-Channel initiatives across various internal departments.

The Internal Communications Manager will work closely with 3-corporate functions, bridging the gap between sales, marketing and customer care. This individual will coordinate with internal stakeholders on the development, production and distribution of these communications. Must be skilled at communicating complex information to diverse audiences through a broad variety of channels. Individual will also create, implement and execute executive communications that educate employees around performances, strengths and focus areas.

This individual will serve as the liaison between sales, marketing and customer care and must therefore understand these three functions, how they work together and be able to effectively communicate their initiatives and successes to the entire company.

Internal Communications Manager Requirements:

  • Provide updates on progress, challenges, opportunities and new projects pertaining to Omni-channel experiences.
  • Serve as the liaison between sales, marketing and customer care, which makes up approximately 3000 individuals.
  • Communicate complex ideas in easily understandable ways to a variety of levels of stakeholders, business partners and employees.
  • Communicate marketing programs and effectiveness back to stakeholders and/or entire company.
  • Effectively communicate how all projects will benefit and impact all channels.
  • Act as a liaison to ensure that all communications are aligned with the Omni-Channel Experiences mandate.
  • Partner with multiple internal teams to ensure communication success across channels.
  • Identify and manage communication project interdependencies, gaps and risks as required.
  • Drive alignment of communications at a program level across channels.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • 5+ years of communications experience, preferably in an Omni-channel, fast paced e-commerce driven environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of internal communications essentials, including communications planning, audience analysis, message development, vehicles and distribution.
  • Retail, care and/or cross channel experience preferred
  • Strong inter-personal, communication (written and oral) and negotiating skills including ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, and the confidence to influence and persuade.
  • Ability to understand the big picture while not losing sight of the details.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and produce high-quality deliverables on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Holds self-accountable for achieving established performance objective.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and project management skills.
  • Self-starter with proven track record of teamwork, innovation and results.
  • Ability to work closely with leadership, acting as a communications advisor.
  • Candidate should be prepared to provide writing samples
